Fans across London say no to Olympic Stadium plans
1/21/2011

As media coverage intensifies on the future use of the Olympic Stadium in Stratford, the Football Supporters' Federation - of which LOFT is an affiliate member - recently published an article detailing the opposition among football fans to either West Ham or Tottenham Hotspur moving in to the stadium.

Inevitably, media debate has focussed on the two Premier League clubs involved. In the article, LOFT chair Doug Harper commented: "Sadly, none of the media has mentioned the affect that either of these 'big boys' moving into Stratford will have on 'little Leyton Orient'. As usual, the lesser clubs are not important in the big scheme of things."

In all the discussions about the future legacy for sport in east London, it is sad but not surprising that the impact on the older of east London's two professional football clubs generates neither column inches in the media nor apparent thought among the decision makers in the Olympic Park Legacy Committee.

LOFT stands ready to work with supporters groups representing both West Ham and Spurs in any campaign against moving a football club to the Olympic Stadium.
