Say No to League 3
5/17/2014

Supporters Direct has been at the forefront recently of opposition to the FA's proposal to institute a League 3 for B teams of Premier League clubs.

Leyton Orient fans have played their part too, with a prominent banner on display at the front of the Tommy Johnston Stand for the O's play-off semi-final match the other day. The passion and noise generated at that game by both Orient and Peterborough fans were a timely reminder that the pyramid structure in English football is precious and should be protected against such patently ludicrous ideas.

If the FA commission that dreamt up this idea thinks that (with all due respect to both clubs) Hull City B team vs Stoke City B team would have even a tenth of the meaning of any of the League or Conference play-off matches, they are frankly deluded.

Whatever division Orient plays in next season, we urge the club to continue its opposition to this plan.

See the latest media briefing from Supporters Direct below, which includes its Against League 3 coverage, as well as rounding up the latest news from the Trust movement, sports governance and finance, and beyond.

  "Against League Three" campaign

Against League 3 is a fan run campaign in opposition against The FA Commission’s proposals to introduce Premier League and Championship ‘B’ teams into the English football pyramid.

We feel the proposals would be damaging to all levels of our national game, with lower league clubs seemingly expected to pay for years of failings from the elite in our game, and poor performances from the National Side.
