LOFT statement on potential club sale
6/26/2014

LOFT became aware yesterday that a limited company has been formed called 'Leyton Orient Holdings Ltd', with a Francesco Becchetti registered as a director. It is therefore no surprise to learn today that Barry Hearn is in talks with Mr Becchetti to sell his shareholding in Leyton Orient Football Club.

We have of course been here before; 5 years ago, the Club made a similar announcement regarding talks with a consortium led by Terry Byrne. Ultimately that sale did not go through, with Barry later stating that he pulled out as it "didn't feel right".

Like all O's fans, LOFT can only wait and see if the due diligence leads to a sale. We hope that Barry will keep to his stated intention to only sell up if it is in the greater good of the football club.

Since LOFT's formation, we have always stated that we are at least as concerned about what happens after Barry calls it a day as we are the present. Whatever happens with the ownership of the club, we will continue to play our part as an independent 'critical friend' to the club.
