LOFT concern at club instability
12/20/2014

The current instability at Leyton Orient FC is a matter of concern for many supporters, as well as for LOFT. While what happens on the pitch is beyond LOFT's remit, it cannot be denied that having four managers and counting in less than half a season is far from ideal.

Change management is a key part of any business, and it remains to be seen how much (if at all) the people working for the club are being helped to manage the change from the type of business that existed with Barry Hearn and Matt Porter in charge to that being experienced now.

In the meantime LOFT is maintaining regular contact with the Supporters Club and other Fans’ Forum members to ensure that lines of communication with the club are focused and address the key issues around the club’s future and the new owner’s long-term plans.

We also would like to meet directly with the club president, Francesco Becchetti, to better understand his vision for the club; it is clear that - like Barry Hearn before him - what the club CEO does is driven by the owner, and it would certainly help the transition process for Orient supporters if Mr Becchetti would come and talk to the fans.

LOFT is also making use of its contacts within Supporters Direct to discuss the possible risks to the club. We plan to engage directly with our members soon on their concerns and priorities for the new era.
