Supporters Direct launches reform manifesto
3/7/2015

With around ten weeks until the General Election, Supporters Direct (SD), the organisation that enables supporter ownership and involvement in clubs, has launched its own manifesto to reform English football.

Chief Executive Robin Osterley highlighted two of the chief demands being made by SD:

"We don’t think that it is too much to ask that supporters know exactly which person actually owns their club. We think it’s equally reasonable to expect that the rights of supporters are protected properly by the rules, and that it’s about time it was done, and done properly"

The manifesto focuses on a number of unresolved issues that were identified in the second report of the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee Review of Football Governance 2013, which recommended sweeping changes.

SD have included Leyton Orient among their clubs of concern in the reporting around the manifesto launch, a view which many O's fans will echo.
