LOFT is organising a football match between ex-O's stars and supporters to help raise money for our Regeneration Fund – and you can take part!
The event will take place on Saturday 20th May at Redbridge FC’s ground, the Oakside Stadium in Barkingside, IG6 1NB (near Barkingside tube station). Kick off is at 2pm.
On one side will be Lingy's Legends, an all-star team managed by former Orient player (and of course, promotion-winning manager) Martin Ling. On the other, a supporters' side managed from the dugout by 80's star Steve Castle (now Evo-Stick Central League winning manager with Royston Town).
Ling's team will include such Orient greats as Alan Comfort, John Mackie, Dean Cox and Gary Alexander. If you’re up for the challenge of playing them, the supporters' side will be made up of two teams of 11 – each team will play one half of 45 minutes, so 22 places are available. Or if you see yourself as a coach, 2 places are available in the supporters' dugout to assist Steve Castle.
Each place (player or coach) costs £45 – just a quid a minute! Bookings will be taken on a first-come, first served basis BY EMAIL ONLY to lofanstrust@gmail.com - LOFT members will have priority until Sunday 30 April, at which point booking will be open to all. Once a place is booked we will get in touch with you to arrange payment by bank transfer or PayPal.
The ground will of course be open to spectators, with a bar and catering available. Admission will be pay on the day, at £5 for Adults and just £1 for under-16s/Senior Citizens.
This will be a fantastic family event, in addition to the game we hope to have several other fun activities taking place which we’ll update about as these are arranged.
We plan to produce a programme for the match to help cover the ground hire cost, so we are looking for individual and business advertisers in the programme – please contact us by email at lofanstrust@gmail.com if you’re interested in this.
