Tell your MP that we’re Fans Not Numbers
9/26/2017

"It cannot be allowed to happen again". Those were the words of LOFT board member Mat Roper at the Fans Not Numbers roadshow on Thursday 14 September, speaking about the crisis situation at several clubs.

Organised by Supporters Direct in conjunction with sports clothing manufacturer Skins, the roadshows were part of a campaign calling for reform within football. LOFT was very happy to be able to support the campaign by co-hosting the last of the roadshows, and we are grateful for the support of Leyton Orient FC in allowing the use of the Olympic Suite at Brisbane Road.

Joining Mat on the panel were board members from the trusts at Blackpool and Charlton, supporters dialogue consultant Kevin Rye and BBC Radio London's Phil Parry, together with the Supporters Direct chairman Tom Greatrex and Skins MD Jamie Fuller.

The panel set out both the ideas behind the Fans Not Numbers campaign and why this is so important to clubs and their communities. Further details are available at the Fans Not Numbers website.

Supporters Direct has published a report setting out recommendations for the regulatory reform of football. The next stage of the campaign is a call to all fans to email their MP, asking them to help change the face of football for the better and give the game back to the people that matter - the fans!
