At its AGM in December 2018, LOFT's board proposed that we provide financial support to football community projects from our general funds. Since then we have provided funding to Leyton Orient Women's Team, Leyton Orient Walking Football FC and also donated to the Justin Edinburgh 3 Foundation.
As part of this support, we set aside £2,000 to be provided as grants to local football clubs – the first such grant was to Ryan FC U11 Whites in Chingford. LOFT now invites other local clubs to apply for such a grant for the 2020/21 season.
The standard grant is for £200 per club, per season. LOFT will consider applications from any football club until close 31 May 2020. If the number of applications outstrips the amount of grant money set aside, qualifying criteria will be applied which favours applications from within Waltham Forest, then teams within London or Essex. Our highest priority criteria aim is to support female football and disability football, as they are recognised as being the most under-funded within the national game.
