LOFT has long argued that safe standing is both feasible and desirable, as a means both of increasing capacity and providing a low-cost point of entry for people to start watching football.
The Football League is currently carrying out a consultation into safe standing among the 72 League clubs. The four questions being asked are:
While we recognise that there is no immediate prospect of safe standing being introduced at Brisbane Road for cost reasons, we believe that the option should be there come the day that the East Stand requires redevelopment.
We therefore call upon Leyton Orient to answer 'yes' to all four questions.
Supporters can and should make their voices heard as well. If you too want the option of safe standing to be available, give your views to the club's Supporter Liaison Officer - chief executive Matt Porter. Time is short, as the consultation ends on Friday 24 January.
