Leyton Orient Fans' Trust welcomes the possibility of new investment in our club at a potentially exciting moment in our history, and notes that the club is in talks with a group interested in acquiring a majority stake in Leyton Orient FC.
We understand and respect the club's plea for supporters to be patient during this process, while also calling on the club and the prospective bidders to be as open and honest with fans as is practically possible. The success of the club depends on effective dialogue and trust between club and fans, and this has largely been a decisive feature of Orient's progress in the past seven and a half years.
We would urge prospective new owners to meet with fans as soon as is feasible and for them to commit to consultation and respect for Leyton Orient's identity, traditions and community role. Over the past few decades we have had both negative and positive experiences of takeovers, so it's important new owners get off on the right foot with supporters.
In the meantime, we congratulate the team and club on this season's progress and look forward to backing them to the hilt for the rest of this season.
