Former Lib Dem sports spokesman Don Foster MP has launched a bid to allow safe standing to be introduced into football grounds in England and Wales. There is no evidence to show that properly designed standing areas are unsafe and nine out of 10 fans believe they should be given the choice to stand or sit.
Safe standing areas in Germany have proven to be a great success contributing to both improved atmospheres and cheaper ticket prices.
