"Waste of a perfectly good football club"
5/6/2015

These were the words of former club CEO Matt Porter after the end of a tumultuous season. A season that saw Leyton Orient relegated on the pitch and become a 'problem club' off the pitch.

Since the takeover by Francesco Becchetti, the club has lurched from one problem to another. Delays to paying season ticket referral monies to supporters, delayed payment of employee wages, publicly castigating a player for his late arrival at a game - these are quite simply not the Orient way.

LOFT has been trying, both on its own and through the Fans' Forum, to persuade Francesco Becchetti to either meet with supporters, or hold an AGM-style meeting of shareholders - or preferably both. We understand that Mr Becchetti is a busy man, but he has a duty to both shareholders and supporters to set out what he plans for our football club.

LOFT's own duty as a supporters' trust is to represent its members in pursuing its aims; greater supporter representation in the wellbeing of our football club and better communications between club and fans. Therefore we call yet again on Mr Becchetti to set out his 'roadmap' for the future:

First and foremost, the overriding question is: having taken over a League 1 club with aspirations towards the Championship, does he intend to remain as owner after relegation to League 2?

Assuming he wants to remain, the next questions are:

Leyton Orient supporters have been extraordinarily patient so far, but that patience is running out and questions need answering.
