Leyton Orient captain, Dean Smith, kindly stepped in at the eleventh hour as a replacement for Barry Hearn (who had to cancel due to a family bereavement) at the Birkbeck pub on Thursday 28th November.
It was a highly entertaining evening; Dean started off by explaining his role
as PFA representative at Leyton Orient and what it entails.
From Dean's manner it is obvious that he is a deep and thoughtful guy and has
an impeccable taste in music(the Manic Street Preachers and The Jam to name but
two).
On behalf of LOFT, I would sincerely like to thank Dean for coming along to
the meeting and also Matt Porter for helping the whole thing to get off the
ground
This was so entertaining, that we are hoping to get more "LOFT evenings
with.." in the future. We already have Barry Hearn pencilled in at the beginning
of the new year and we are also currently trying to contact a couple of ex Os
players as well to talk at future meetings
Finally, thanks to all who attended - we hope to be able to give you a more
in-depth report of the meeting with Dean Smith soon.
Doug Harper
LOFT Chair
