Leyton Orient Fans’ Trust (LOFT) welcomes the announcement of plans for a new stadium for our club, close to our existing ground and in our home borough. We welcome its potential as a community asset as well as the opportunity it offers for the club and team to progress.

It is, of course, essential that this project is sustainable, financially viable and transparent, and is developed alongside regular meaningful consultations with supporters at each stage. In line with the new Independent Football Regulator’s guidelines on club heritage and stadium moves, LOFT welcomes the club’s commitment to consult and inform.

We will scrutinise the plans as they progress and look forward to the successful implementation of the project to benefit both the club and the local community. Up the O’s!

I have memories of waiting outside the playersโ€™ entrance in the late 1950s waiting to collect autographs of the Orient players before they got on the bus or walked home but am pleased about the plans for development and agree with your view of interactive communication that will be needed to make the new ground a success. (Perhaps West Ham FC would like to buy the Brisbane Road estate?!)
